I booked a standard-sized room with a queen-sized bed and a fireplace. The location was unbeatable, within walking distance to restaurants, beautiful gardens, and the town center.

The staff was very nice, the price was very competetive, the location was superior, and all the facilities more than met our expectations. I would highly recommend Colonial Terrance to anyone looking for a charming and relaxing experience in Carmel By The Sea without all the distractions and overpriced alternatives.
The rooms are in need of upgrading. They are a bit tierd. Upgraded furniture, carpet and a general freshening up would be great.

The view was great, the service was excellent. There was free Wi-Fi that worked well throughout the property. I booked the hotel for its incredible location adjacent to the center of the town, the beach, town, Mission Ranch, and good restaurants and shopping.

The location is fantastic, really close to the beach, and the rooms are very spacious with super comfortable beds. Plus, it's only 0.5 miles from the airport.

The location one block away from the beach was wonderful. The rooms comfortable and the gardens around the buildings were lovely.
The breakfast buffet offered the same dull choices and quality as a chain hotel. Nothing fresh or tasty and the same every day.

The Colonial Terrace is in a fantastic location - residential area and only a block from the beach. Downtown Carmel is about a mile away so you can walk there, too. Beautiful gardens give the Terrace a very relaxing and lovely environment. The linens, towels, and toiletries are all top notch.
We were in a courtside queen room which is quite small. Barely enough room for the queen bed, plus a small desk which served as a dresser. Fireplace was nice. Bathroom also small. It made for tight quarters, but also encouraged us to go outside!

The hotel is in a lovely building with marvelous views of the beach. Standard sized rooms with comfortable beds. Extremely helpful personnel. Reasonably large private bathroom. Easy check-in with generally excellent service.

The location is great. The grounds are beautiful, very quiet, and there was ample parking. The bed linens are new and the beds are very comfortable. There is an inviting continental breakfast in the reception area.
We booked a deluxe king ocean view. Upon arrival, we were given a tiny queen room in the back of the complex, with the explanation that the deluxe room overbooked online and we were then assigned this room. After many requests for something else, we were moved to an ocean view suite for our second night's stay. Though the room was bigger and had a magnificent view, both rooms are old and tattered. We felt like we were victims of the bait and switch, with the confirmation of one room and the switch to another. And the rate we paid for the small queen room was the same as our neighbor's large suite. Though we were given a reduced rate on the suite for the second night, and the manager was very helpful, she was not apologetic for what happened
